Latest Update on Kadaugan sa Mactan Event
*There will be a pre-battle show on Thursday (April 26) while the actual re-enactment will be on Friday (April 27) at 9:00 AM.
* Re-enactment will be on April 27, Friday at 9:00 AM. Richard Kwan will portray as Lapu-Lapu, Geneva Cruz as Bulakna, and Patrick Garcia as Magellan.
Cebu is indeed the Queen City of the South as it never run out of events. It’s a living proof that it’s more fun in the Philippines. After the success of the word class Sinulog 2012 Festival, the city of Lapu-Lapu will held the annual celebration of Kadaugan sa Mactan which includes the two-day Kadaugan Street Party!
Looking back, Richard Gordon introduced a bill proposing April 27 as an official Philippine national holiday to be known as “Adlaw ni Lapu-Lapu a.k.a. Kadaugan sa Mactan during the First Regular Session of 14th Congress of the Philippines.
As part of the yearly celebration, the government officials of Lapu-Lapu headed by councilor Harry Radaza prepares for another big celebration this year!
Aside from the reenactment of the Kadaugan sa Mactan, they also have the Kadaugan Street Party. It’s a two day event of non stop fun and party!
The Kadaugan Street Party is held on April 27 and 28, 2012. One of the activities that you can look forward is the Midnight Beer Run which is the highlight of the Kadaugan Street Party 2012. It’s one of a kind and only in the Philippines because they will serve beer instead of water during the fun run event and registration is only PHP 100.

Though the whole stretch of M.L. Quezon Hi-way will be closed for the said event, however the city government make sure that this will not affect the traffic specially those people who are working in Mepza. They will open the street located at the back of Lapu-Lapu City Hall for commuters and PUJ’s to pass by.
