Laag 20: Eco-Adventures in Balamban – One Day Itinerary

Balamban CebuOut of boredom, I’ve researched about Balamban and found some interesting tourist attractions. When my boss approved my one-month vacation leave, I didn’t hesitate to include a trip to Balamban in my “bakasyon grande.”

Balamban Cebu is a first class municipality in the province in Cebu. It is known for the THICI shipyard and Mt. Manunggal (the crash site of former president Magsaysay).

How to get there?

We ride a V-hire going to Balamban from Ayala PUJ/PUB Terminal. Fare is around P100-120 at that time while travel period would only take an hour or two. You can also ride a bus from south bus terminal going to Balamban, but I personally recommend Vhire as it’s more convenient.

After an hour, we finally arrived at Brgy. Gaas where Adventure Café and Island in the Sky Resort are located. Grabbed our lunch at the Adventure Café then proceed to the Island in the Sky Resort for our first cable car experience.

We didn’t try the trek to the falls but it would have been great if we have enough time. Maybe next time but I have included it on my suggested one-day itinerary.

8:00 am – 9:00 travel going to Brgy. Gaas in Balamban

9:00 – 9:45 am breakfast at Adventure Café

10:00 – 11:00 am trek going to the falls

11:00 – 2:00 pm free time (do whatever you want to do when you get to the falls)

2:00 – 3:00 start the trek going back to the café

3:00 – 4:30 arrival at Island in the Sky Resort and try the cable car

4:30 pm – prepare to leave and wait for a Vhire that will pass along the hi-way of Brgy. Gaas

* You can wait for V-hire along the hi-way. You may also stay overnight at the Island in the Sky Resort as they have cottages that can be rented for overnight stay.
