Tropical island burst to life with colours as the ocean meets the infinity pool overlooking to the mainland Cebu. Because of this breathtaking view, it’s hard to say goodbye to Sumilon Island.
After years of admiring it from afar, we have decided to book a day tour in a more spontaneous way. And I didn’t regret that I have to work double time after the trip ‘coz I was rewarded with a spectacular view.
How to get to Sumilon Island
You can ride a bus going to Oslob. The earliest trip is at 3 am and we took the 5:45 am bus. Just tell the bus driver to drop you off at the Brgy. Bancogon or at the drop-off point for Sumilon Island.
Behind the post card worthy pictures on @instagram is a blogger who risk her life just to get the perfect angle. As how the millennials would put it, "it didn't happen unless it's on #instagram." 😊 #lnctravels #Cebu #oslob #sumilonisland #instagramer #blogger #wanderlust #vacation #032igers #blues #greens #nature #beachday #islandlife
It’s best that you check the schedule of banca transfers. From their reception area on the mainland, the earliest schedule is 8 am followed by 9:30 am and 11am then, it will resume at 1 pm.
Day tour starts at 8 am and ends at 5 pm. With your P1,500 tour fee, you can have free access to their amenities like the iconic infinity swimming pool and free lunch (buffet or platter depending on the arrangement for that day).
Snorkeling is a must try (after all, Sumilon island is a marine sanctuary). You may also try to do the kayak in the lagoon or trek until you reach the historic watchtower.
Read a book perhaps. It’s also a good choice, and you can borrow some books from their mini library.
There’s so much to do in the island that you’ll never notice the time. For reservations or inquiries, you may visit their website at http://www.bluewater.com.ph.
